Dene leads Pathways Welcome Values Quality Checker Programme and facilitates a number of Regional Groups and Forums including the Regional Learning Disability Forum; National Campaigns; Being Safe and Mens Groups. 

Dene has worked as a Director and senior manager of provider services in the public, private and third sector. He also served as a Health and Social Care commissioner. He  has a particular interest in racial justice aswell as  improving the criminal justice system for people with learning disabilities and autism and works with the Greater Manchester Learning Disability Criminal Justice implementation Group to help achieve this. 

Dene develops and leads mindfulness programmes for people with learning disabilities, people with autism, their families and workforce. His work includes leading the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Services (IAPT) Valuing People Now Project and a three year series of mindfulness programmes for the workforce of MerseyCare NHS Foundation Trust.

Dene leads mindful meditation programmes in prisons for offenders and provides mindfulness training for physical intervention training agencies to help reduce the use of physical interventions.

Dene is a Registered Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
